Introducing High Spirits Awards:
The first-ever competition
exclusively for cannabis beverages

High Spirits Awards is a new beverage competition by L.A. Spirits Awards, open to all cannabis-derived beverage products legally sold in California and all hemp-derived (CBD/alternative cannabinoid) beverages from anywhere in the U.S.

“High Spirits Awards gives cannabis beverage brands a powerful tool to prove their quality and convey to consumers, retailers, and investors that their product is something special.”

RACHEL BURKONS, LEAD CANNABIS JUDGE

We help stand-out products stand out.

The dizzying choices consumers face when shopping for cannabis beverages can be nothing short of daunting. High Spirits Awards medals help buyers choose the best cannabis- and hemp-derived beverages. Just as importantly, they also help retailers identify products their customers will enjoy and make for more confident recommendations and buying decisions.

(Investors and the media love winners, too!)

How does it work?

High Spirits Awards will be judged by experts in the cannabis beverage field, led by Rachel Burkons, a well-known cannabis consultant, content creator, writer, and educator. A complete list of judges will be available soon on the L.A. Spirits Awards Judges page.

Entries will first be judged on their own merits, with flavor being the primary judging criterion.

Top medal winners will then compete in a final tasting round judged by both High Spirits Awards judges and select L.A. Spirits Awards judges to determine Best in Show winners in individual cannabis beverage categories.

Winning is just the beginning.

High Spirits Awards is committed to helping winners make the most of their medals. Following the competition, we offer a number of programs and tools to help winners promote their awards.

  • Full-color certificates and complimentary medallion imagery for use in online and print promotions
  • Preferential pricing on point-of-sale print products from our strategic partner, First in Print
  • Results will be published on the L.A. Spirits Awards/High Spirits Awards website as well as on The Clever Root—with its focus on culinary cannabis and cannabis beverages— which will be relaunching this summer
  • Top winners will be featured in High Spirits Awards' email marketing and social media posts

High Spirits Awards is also planning a number of tasting events beginning in September 2023, open by invitation to top medal winners, to help bring winning products to the attention of consumers, retailers, and the media.

“High Spirits Awards gives cannabis beverage brands a powerful tool to prove their quality and convey to consumers, retailers, and investors that their product is something special.”
